Robert Rajalingam is the Vice President & General Manager of the Vascular Access business unit at Smiths Medical, a role that he has held since May 2016. Prior to joining Smiths Medical he was the Vice President, Global Marketing at Medtronic Peripheral Vascular where he helped lead the integration of Covidien’s Peripheral business into Medtronic. Vascular devices have been a continued area of interest, having worked in the venous therapy area (spearheading the Rethink Varicose Veins disease awareness campaign including an Olympic spokesperson at Covidien), in aortic therapies at Medtronic Vascular leading market development, and in coronary and peripheral arterial business units in a variety of marketing roles. Robert has also held corporate and business development roles at Lilly and Medtronic.
He began his career as a biomedical engineer working in Medtronic’s CRDM business unit. Robert has degrees in Economics and Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
