Bob leads all Research & Development programs for Smiths Medical. His focus is to enhance innovation and accelerate the commercializing of differentiated products and platforms. He joined the organization in 2014.
Prior to joining Smiths Medical, Bob served as Vice President, Innovation Excellence Transformation at Philips Healthcare, a $12.4 billion division of the Dutch conglomerate. In that role, he had responsibility for creating and implementing the product development process and competency improvements for all product development in Philips Healthcare globally. Prior to Philips, he served as Vice President of R&D for all Medical Devices and Adjacent Disposables for Baxter Healthcare. Bob began his career as an engineer in GE Healthcare and assumed roles of increasing responsibility over 21 years, last serving as General Manager of Global Computed Tomography and Functional Imaging Engineering.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from St. Norbert College and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, as well as a number of patents.
