Ramji Iyer is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Laplace Interventional, a pioneering medical device company developing transcatheter solutions for tricuspid valve disease. Since founding Laplace, he has led the company from early concept through clinical feasibility, successfully raising over $40 million across multiple financing rounds to advance its novel transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement platform.
Ramji holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from BITS, Pilani, India, and a Master’s and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Prior to starting Laplace, Ramji led R&D at Caisson Interventional, a TMVR startup that was successfully acquired by LivaNova. Prior to Caisson, he was at St. Jude Medical, where he worked on pediatric mechanical heart valves, TAVR platforms, and surgical tissue heart valves, giving him broad experience across multiple valve types, positions, and patient populations.
Under his leadership, Laplace has completed U.S. Early Feasibility Studies and is progressing rapidly toward its pivotal clinical trial. A recognized inventor and thought leader in structural‑heart innovation, he holds more than 30 issued patents and has authored 10 peer‑reviewed publications in the field of cardiovascular device innovation.
