Gavin Kenny is an experienced R&D leader with more than 15 years of success translating innovative medical technologies from early concept through clinical evaluation and commercialization. At CroíValve, he leads the design and development of the DUO™ Coaptation Valve Technology, a device aimed at improving quality of life for people living with Tricuspid Regurgitation, by expanding treatment options and enabling broader physician adoption.
Before joining CroíValve, Gavin spent over 10 years at Medtronic, where he worked in a range of technical, project, and people-leadership roles. He contributed to the development and commercialization of multiple cardiovascular devices, including Coronary Stent Delivery Systems and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Delivery Systems. He also led the R&D program for a next-generation Transcatheter Mitral Valve Delivery System—from concept through clinical studies—following Medtronic’s acquisition of a start-up technology. In recognition of his technical impact, he was named a Medtronic Technical Fellow.
Gavin also previously worked at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare in New Zealand, where he supported the design and clinical assessment of an airway humidification device for ventilated patients.
He holds a B.E. in Biomedical Engineering from NUI Galway and is a certified Project Management Professional. He’s named on more than 10 granted U.S. patents, with several more pending. Over the course of his career, Gavin has developed expertise in building strong R&D teams, catheter and nitinol implant design, and creating test methods that closely replicate in-vivo behaviour.
