Darrell Swenson is an Eng. Director and a Technical Fellow for Medtronic, where he leads the Numerical Modeling Department within the Cardiac Rhythm Management business unit. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Utah, specializing in Computational Cardiac Electrophysiology, and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University, with a focus on computational tools.
Darrell has extensive experience in regulated industries, including medical devices, aerospace, and defense, where he has applied computational methods to various regulatory submissions. He specializes in the development of virtual human models for regulatory evidence, enhancing the assessment of medical device safety and efficacy. Darrell has published research with the FDA on methodologies for assessing the credibility of verification and validating methods for computational physiological models.
